    Hello!

We are trying to streamline a process in our office for patients turning 18. In your offices, when and how do you prepare for a patient turning 18? Do you discuss it with them at their last visit before they are 18? Do you confirm with mom/dad that they are still financially responsible? Do you send out a specific HIPAA form? Any help/process would be wonderful. Thank you!

We have them fill out new forms at their next apt once they turn 18. No prepping before hand. We tell them they would need to add mom/dad name on the HIPPA release if they want them to get information. Most will put their parents since parents are still making appointments, etc.
