Thank you for your question. If a patient calls with an emergency, we always explain that we will do what we can to get them out of pain. We also let them know that we are fitting them in and a second appointment may be needed to complete any treatment. This allows you to determine if this is a “true emergency” and it also allows you to manage the patient’s expectation of their visit. I would highly recommend letting them know what to expect during the appointment – PA, limited exam – and the cost. You may ask them if they have insurance and explain that you will do your best to verify their benefits prior to their visit, but they will be responsible for the cost of the visit. Again, this lets you know if this is a true emergency. Letting patients know in advance what they can expect as far as treatment anf financial obligations is important so there are no suprises.

When the patient arrives, explain to them again what the appointment will entail. If you were not able to get the insurance information verified, collect the amount that will be due prior to taking them to the operatory. If further treatment is needed, you can present a treatment plan and discuss finances before moving forward.

    I hope this helps!

You would have to gather every EOB and go line by line. If they owe anything most states allow you to only go back 2 years. Depending on filing limits you may still be able to file

Hello Rockstars! I am sure some of you have noticed some updates to our training courses this week and I wanted to be sure I explained the reason behind these changes. After a brief step back, I am back to focus 100% on Front Office Rocks! Through an intensive auditing process of 10 cumulative years of content, I reorganized the modules to maximize efficiency based on topic and roles. Front Office Rocks is not eliminating content; we are simply restructuring into tracks that offer an optimal user experience. The only change in courses in the future will be the addition of exciting, new, and unique offerings. For those who have previously received certificates for completing a course, those certificates will still be accessible within your “Course” dashboard under “My Certificates”. Some users may notice that they do not see progress from a selection of the restructured modules. This is not information that we can retrieve or replicate at this time. However, as I teach in my training… it is never too late to sharpen the sword and refresh your skills with review. Our Customer Service team is standing by to answer any questions you may have regarding this new course format and can be reached within your dashboard under by navigating to “Community/All Front Office Rocks Members” group, by calling 866-861-8819, by chat, or by email at: [email protected]. Happy Training! – Laura

Me too…You are going to LOVE IT!!!

  • I hear this often, Rosemarie. We need to be sure our teams understand what is expected and are held accountable for their responsibilities. Behaviors are more likely to change if there are consequences…! I have noticed that being proactive in what you do and how you think is not something that we can “teach”. Having detailed job task lists and systems for accountability are 2 ways to help you help the team get their jobs accomplished without constant supervision and management, GOOD LUCK!

Thank you for your message. The ability to assign specific courses is not an option now. What works well for most teams, is to determine the goals and base the training around that. Is the team in need of better communication skills? Guide them to the Office Culture course. Do you need to work on phone skills? The Receptionist and Telephone Skills course is perfect for that. Hope this helps!
